Tonight's
artist is young pianist Silvia
Tessari, graduated at the famous 'Conservatorio S. Cecilia' in Rome
(with full
marks) and soloist of international fame. Silvia will play a piano
recital in
her hometown Falcade. The repertoire chosen is inviting and original:
famous
pieces such as the 'Polacca 44' by Chopin and the notorious 'Mephisto
Walzer'
by Liszt, alternated with Italian authors. Silvia Tessari will perform
her own
pianistic transcription
of 'L'Inverno'
(Winter) and 'La Primavera' (Spring) by Vivaldi, and works by Ottorino
Respighi
(Three Preludes after Gregorian melodies and a piano suite from "La
bottega fantastica"). The concert program thus offers a combination of
very different genres and eras, from the 18th
century Venice of
Vivaldi to the multicoloured inventiveness of Italian composing in the
first
half of the the 20st century, via virtuoso
playing and the
rich emotions of the Romantic Era.
This
concert, and the ones on 13, 17 and
21 August likewise, is linked to the series of masterclasses organized
by 'The
Muses and the Dolomites'. As part of the concert program offered
tonight,
students from the masterclass 'Piano, Humanism and Art today', held by
Silvia
Tessari in collaboration with Falcade-based artist Dunio Piccolin, will
present
their achievements.

For
one night, the 'Casa della Gioventu'
of Caviola trasforms into an Opera Theatre. The students of the
Masterclass
'Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music', held by the famous soprano
Adelisa
Tabiadon (originally from Tabiadon di Val, Falcade) and by renowned
'Maestra di
repertorio' Sofia Yoo-Kyung Park, will perform
opera repertoire, accompanied by Maestra Sofia Park.
For the students, the concert is going to be the final presentation of the series of lessons they will have frequented in the Elementary School Building of Marmolada; for the audience, the evening is going to be a rare occasion: that of seeing opera performed in an area at high altitude, with a high quality level, in a concert program that promises to be both spirited and moving. After the success of the first 'Muses & Dolomites' edition, regional newspaper Il Gazzettino wrote (6 September 2013): 'To present Opera at high altitude might represent a risk – but it does work.' A statement that was certainly confirmed on the evening itself by the numerous audience comments, one of which states: 'Great singers. An initiative of great value, to be repeated.' The Muses and the Dolomites of course had nothing else in mind: we foresee yet another evening of guaranteed emotions!

The
Falcade – based initiative 'Le Muse e
le Dolomiti' will present itself for the first time in the confining
region
Trentino-Alto Adige with this event.
The
concert program provides an overview
of the 19th century Lied tradition in German
language: the artists
will perform pieces by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Strauss and others;
to
conclude the program, Wagner's famous Lieder cycle of the 'Wesendonck Lieder' will
be performed. The
concert not only includes the dreams and 'Sehnsucht', that inevitably
characterize this repertoire; there will also be space for the opposite
side,
the amusing, sparkling and fierce one.
The
concert has a twofold purpose:
firstly, to make sure the audience enjoys an evening of rich emotions;
secondly, to conclude the 2014 season of the Festival 'The Muses and
the
Dolomites' by presenting part of our artistic and didactic team.
Federica
Pecorari and Laura Amodeo form a
duo of professional level; they have already confirmed their capacity
of an
individual and convincing interpretation on various occasions. In this
concert,
they will present the results of a series of lessons with Adelisa
Tabiadon and
Sofia Park, dedicated to the deepening of interpretational skills in
chamber
music repertoire.
Adelisa
Tabiadon, originally from
Falcade, is a soprano lirico-spinto of international fame. She has sung
in the
most celebrated theatres of Italy and around the world, also by the
side of
Luciano Pavarotti. Together with the multi-talented and praised pianist
Sofia
Park, they hold the Masterclass 'Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music',
one of
the elements that make up the 2014 edition of the Muses &
Dolomites
Festival. Oda Hochscheid is a young mezzosoprano who has already made
her debut
in various opera roles, from Baroque to Rossinian repertoire; she also
is
artistic-executive codirector of 'Le Muse e le Dolomiti'.
The Muses and the Dolomites is honoured to collaborate with the Scuola di Musica 'Il Pentagramma' of Tesero, and to be granted the availability of its elegant Auditorium for the occasion, a very suitable location for the present concert. We are happy to be able to share our purposes with a new audience: bring Classical Music to a stupendous territory through an international project of high quality.
